About Katie













    Katie Wigington is a freelance writer and marketing guru.  Her personal
    essay Please Tie Your Shoes was published in A Cup of Comfort® For
    Military Families in 2008. She has also written an article featured in the Mint
    Hill Times, Sending Our Kids Off to War; a web based article, Serve Your
    Country: Support The Troops, expressing troop support as patriotism and not
    politics; and was the editor of Devil Dog Chow™  a  fundraising cookbook
    containing over 500 recipes received from Marine Corps families. Devil Dog
    Chow™ is available for sale at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in
    Triangle, Virginia and at MarineParents.com.









    Katie is the proud mother of Nicholas, a United States Marine Corps combat
    veteran; and a native of San Francisco, California. She is currently living in
    Marin County with her three dogs, Smokie, Noodlehead and Toshi and very
    near two of her sisters.

    Katie is Auntie Katie to many wonderful nieces and nephews and proud to be
    called  "Auntie Katie"  by almost everyone!

    In addition to her day job Katie is currently working on publishing several
    short stories, one children’s picture book and writing one novel.

    Katie’s interests are her family and friends, writing, blogging, reading, her
    dogs, spirituality, Japanese culture, military history, USMC, San Francisco
    history, her ancestry, current news, unsolved mysteries, North Carolina, and
    any oddity or interest which makes its way to her on any given day.
